Oak Island lies offshore of central Maine, roughly halfway between Bar Harbor to the north, and Portland to the south. At low tide, it’s 27 acres, at high, it shrinks to 17. It’s powered with solar energy and you shower with water collected from the rain. If you don’t feel like sleeping indoors, erect a tent on the beach. In harbors nearby you can procure plenty of seafood for your stay. Or, collect it yourself from the beach, maybe cast a line or toss a net from a boat. Do cell phones work? Depends. Do you really want them to?

Rent the cabin, oh, and the entire island it comes with, here.
