There’s definite enjoyment in owning a powerful telescope, bringing it out to a dark field on cold winter evenings, the universe expanding and exploding into view all within in a small eyepiece. Or projected onto a tablet screen, or whatever backyard astronomers do these days. But this is something else entirely. Beautiful time-lapse footage of impossibly star-rich night skies over observatories in Chile. It’s as if you’re floating through bands of the Milky Way. Well, of course, we are, but well, you get the idea. The clarity is such you feel you could almost reach into the screen to grab a handful of stars.
