Alaska’s Chugach Range May Have Seen As Much as 28 FEET of Snow in 3 Days

Mount Marcus Baker stands at 13,176 feet, roughly 75 miles east of Anchorage, Alaska. Over the past three days, the National Weather Service issued a mind-blowing forecast: Up to 28.7 feet, not inches, but feet, of snow over the three-day period ending today.

Sadly, there are no mountain gauges that high in that region, so we will never actually know how much fell. An atmospheric river pounded parts of Alaska with flooding rains and at least 10 feet of snowfall above 5,000 feet since Halloween.

“Snow may be heavy at times,” the NWS forecast said.

Ya think?
