Kitsbow has now made three of these 36 Hours films, where they document folks riding and camping somewhere for, you guessed it, 36 hours. A little mini adventure close to home, via the glorious bike. This go-round, it’s mother/daughter team Emily and Willow exploring Stony Valley–the second largest roadless wilderness tract of land in Pennsylvania. As Emily, the filmmaker explains: “I want to encourage a way of seeing that actually expands what it means to be human, and show that we don’t have to go far to find a transformative experience. It is about the inherent health of the whole, not as an abstraction, but as a lived, participatory experience. The root of ‘abstract,’ after all, is ‘out of our tracks.’”
