Lost Cat Joins Skiers On Climb of 10,000-Foot Peak in Swiss Alps

Cyril and Erik Rohrer were climbing Mt. Britsen in Switzerland when they were surprised by a trailer—a small cat padding behind them in the snow. “It was 4:30 am, at around 1200 meters, when we heard a cat in the dark forest,” said Cyril. “She made a really scared and confused impression. But we couldn’t get rid of her while walking uphill. So she stayed with us.”

The cat was safely handed over to its owners once the Rohrers made it back down the mountain. Turns out, the cat had wandered away from home and been “lost” for four days. Though her paws were raw from the freezing snow the cat insisted on staying with the hikers, summiting with them.
