Kings Canyon isn’t exactly a secret, but it still somehow feels like one. Yosemite’s equally spectacular frontcountry, and, let’s face it, more spectacular backcountry cousin down south. The entrance is a breathtaking ribbon of road on Highway 180, the main trailhead climbs straight up along Bubbs Creek into a narrow gorge before eventually opening and leading to the doorstep of heaven.
Hey, wait, can you actually do that? Where your author lives, you specifically can’t even carry bikes on trails. Anyway, envious over here.
