Chamonix-based filmmaker Seb Montaz-Rosset has worked quite a bit with mountain speedmeister Kilian Jornet, but his most powerful short film, for us, still might be the highlining piece, Flight of the Frenchies, from 2013. Most people saw it in the form of its teaser, above, which features a very short segment of a shirtless man highlining in Norway without a leash or tether, set to the hypnotic music of the Rural Albert Advantage. That unidentified man turned out to be Swiss climber Bernhard Witz, and Seb eventually spun his footage into a 14-minute free film that includes Witz’s entire hopeless highline, which is below. If you want to fast-forward to the goods, skip to around 9:00.
