Perhaps you have your eye on a little patch of land somewhere. If only a lightweight, relatively inexpensive cabin that doesn’t require a foundation, in most cases, could be shipped there easily, you could have a dream setup. Especially if that cabin was a marvel of expandability, able to open and close at will to let in, or shut out, the elements as you see fit. That’s the idea behind the Anna cabin. Designed by Dutch architect Caspar Schols, the Anna cabin can be flat-packed and shipped pretty much anywhere in the world, with a base price around $100,000.

Ok. Hmmm. Nope. “Marvel of expandibility?” Try canvas wall tent 20×20, $1500-2000, cut your own poles, place on dirt or simple wood platform, portable, lasts years, waterproof, etc… want more room and comfort? Add 2nd wall tent, etc… get bored of the view, kids grow up so forth, move to new spot, etc…
Ok. Hmmm. Nope. “Relatively inexpensive.” Relative to what? Francis Ford Coppola’s “weekend cabin” in Belize? Hook me up with a wall tent, Josh!
Compared to an actual house or cabin.
if “non house” simplicity is what you seek, give these guys a about! sales now too. best -J

Looks cool, I’d much rather spend a few weeks each summer in this, than a canvas wall tent!
What a beautiful and ingenious Concept! Congratulations!
