Did you know that for most of the history of marshmallows, marshmallows were solely made of plants? It wasn’t until industrial food got involved that ground-up ligaments and bones (i.e., gelatin) were added. Today, few marshmallows are vegan. During the holidays, Trader Joe’s carries them, but for most of the year your best bet is the ones from Dandies. Dandies come in smore and hot chocolate sizes and 10-ounce bags cost $4. Get them here.
