Natives Outdoors Working to Help Hard-Hit First Americans
It’s no surprise that people of color and minority communities are being hit by coronavirus far worse than white Americans, but that doesn’t make it any less of a tragedy, or disgrace. It makes it worse. The people of the Hopi, Navajo, and other Native tribes are being hammered by the disease and their resources are among the least able to deal with it. As Native Outdoors shared, “On a per capita basis, this would place the Navajo Nation number three in states right behind NY & NJ in terms of impacts.”
If you’ve spent any time in the Four Corners region, you’ve visited their lands, and whether you have or not, perhaps you could consider helping them out. Len Necefer and Tara Kerzhner of Native Outdoors have vetted and compiled a list of organizations that are making the biggest difference—you can find that list right here.
