Even in the dead of winter, Yosemite Valley bustles. Lines of cars, shuttle buses, gawking tourists with cameras dangling from their necks. Spring is when the park nears its most beautiful and the crowds normally begin to grow even further. Except not now, not with it closed to the public. To view the park now is to steal a snapshot in time, before it became Yosemite with a capital Y, and was merely a place.
