Surfing in NYC isn’t exactly a new thing, or a secret, heck, New Yorker staffer and Pulitzer Prize winner Bill Finnegan makes his home and surfs in the Big Apple. But it’s still kinda amazing to imagine picking your way down an apt building stairs, board and wetsuit in tow, and hopping the subway to the beach. Harder, however, to imagine a life in all those concrete high rises not yearning to get into the sun and the brine.
