Adventure isn’t about competition or records, but sometimes, dang, you have to stop and recognize accomplishment. Kilian Jornet, the human perpetual motion machine, crushed the record for vertical feet climbed in 24 hours, logging 77,000 vert at Tusten ski center near Molde, Norway, this weekend. He averaged 3,200 feet an hour, including bathroom and food stops, smashing the old record of 66,000 feet held by Lars Erik Skjervheim. Photo by Matti Bernitz via Kilian Jornet
