Sure, winter is great, snow is beautiful, and if you ski you’re in hog heaven, but come mid-February, I start jonesing for some warmth. Some spring or even fall goodness. Pitchers and catchers report to spring training next week, and my three-season camping equipment is starting to look more and more inviting. Perfect time to lose 15 minutes and get absorbed in a desert thru-hike of the Hayduke Trail, an 800-mile buttkicker that winds from Arches to Zion national parks. It’s difficult to hike and navigate, but just watching people do it is like cozying up to a warm fireplace. This video is the first part of a series and already I’m planning my own assault on this area.
