Last winter, Nicolas Derely was skiing near Anterne Pass in the French Alps when he witnessed a man named Bruno Tissier succumb to exhaustion and suffer a bad fall at over 7,000 feet of elevation. Observers were able to place a rescue call to the French Mountain Police which dispatched a helicopter to try to pluck Bruno from the steep slopes. Derely captured the rescue of Tissier with his phone’s camera, and the resulting video, a testament to the bravery and skill of the rescue pilot, almost doesn’t seem real.
