The Lofoten Islands are an archipelago in northern Norway known for their dramatic scenery, frigid winters, and, increasingly, terrific surf. Unstad, a small hamlet on the coast, even boasts a surf resort, complete with a mobile sauna to tow around the beach. Surfing in Scandinavia is also growing in popularity with a handful of homegrown surfers gaining a bit of attention in the European surf scene.
Oliver Hartkopp, from Denmark, stars in this short film…well, wait, actually no he doesn’t. He rips, but it’s the scenery that steals the show.
