What were you doing on June 19? Checking your gram? Hate-scrolling your ex on Facebook? Well, Paul Bonhomme and Vivian Bruchez were doing nothing less than banging out a rare descent of Nant Blanc, a.k.a. the Northeast Face of Aiguille Verte, in the Mont Blanc massif above Chamonix, France.
The two skied in the tracks of legends. Jean-Marc Boivin made the first descent in June 1989, followed 10 years later by Marco Siffredi on the second descent and first snowboard descent. Pierre Tardivel and Stéphane Brosse skied a variation in 2009. And Bonhomme and Bruchez even repeated part of a route set in 1928 by Armand Charlet and Camille Devouassoux.
What a great way to celebrate the start of summer. Check out the pics for some high-angle inspiration.
OMG. Incredible. Not sure if “bold” is the right adjective!
Nice to be reminded that Chamonix will always be Chamonix.
