Why In the World Would Anyone Ultrarun?

Is ultrarunning an addiction, an affliction, both, neither, or something else entirely?


Robbie Britton is a world-class runner who left London for Chamonix, where he came up hard against the reality of, well, the Alps. In this short meditation, he muses on his limits, on the shock of just up and quitting, and why ultrarunning is terrible for you, yet he still does it.
