It doesn’t matter whether you surf or not, this five-minute video about Adam Voigt, a talented young surfer from South Africa living with cancer, will move you to appreciate even more whatever form adventure takes in your life. Voigt was diagnosed with leukemia and surfing has helped Voigt keep his wits about him through the incredible emotional and physical toll of dealing with his illness.
“Surfing gives you balance, reminding you you’re not invincible. I don’t think you’re ever really in control. Things are changing all the time, you’ve gotta adapt. It’s not over, and I’m just looking forward to whatever comes next,” Voigt says.
Quite the insight from a kid in a trying, to say the least, situation, and a reminder that the joys of being outside and alive should never be taken for granted.
A wonderful story of bravery..this should be seen by other cancer patients, life goes on..and everyday is battle that we must win..we must face our problem with everything we’ve got and never lose hope and do what we always love to do..
