Blake Lively Fights Shark With Knife and Flare Gun

Another great white vs. surfer teaser is out and…wow, just wow.

Oh, Blake. Keep this up and you might find yourself in Historical Badass someday. Or at least your character will.

Blake Lively, she of Gossip Girl, Green Lantern, and too many red carpets to count, is back in a second trailer for her new film, The Shallows, a Jaws-meets-The-Revenant battle between hunger and survival. We showed you the first trailer a couple months ago, and it turns out there are lots of Blake Lively fans on AJ.

In this one, we get to see more of her nemesis, more of her, and more of the tools she uses to fight off a shark the size of a whale. You’re gonna need a bigger knife…

“In the taut thriller The Shallows, when Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.

Diana from Whistler emailed us last week and this is what she said:

“You’ve managed to package up the AJ content I’ve come to love into something so freaking drool-worthy that there were actually arguments in our office over who got to take our one copy home for the evening. It is, in my humble opinion, the single best piece of publishing our industry has ever seen.”

132 pages of stoke, inspiration, deep thoughts, and real adventure. See what the buzz is all about.

Wow, I’ve been doing it wrong all these years. Zipper in the front for maximum cleavage and sun exposure (and obviously comfort while padding and reduced flushing while duckdiving), and maximum jewelry of course. No way multiple necklaces will tangle in my long hair. Stack of bracelets and heavy mascara a must when surfing.
