I doubt you guys have noticed, but a couple of months ago I started making the Friday Daily Bikes almost exclusively pictures of mountain biking and singletrack, with the idea being that we’d kick off the weekend with a little dirty inspiration. But today I’m mixing it up with a decidedly non-singletrack, not-dirty picture from Pia Ulin, who specializes in architecture and shelter porn.

It’s warm down here in the lower left corner of the country, languid even, and this shot looks to me like the ideal Friday night with my lady, my kids, and my friends. And I’d be happy to schlep the gear and set it up so everyone else could ride. A little culture, fellowship, fresh air, a wee bit of exercise…the makings of a perfect summer night.
