Mike Olbinski is a storm chaser. No, not tornados. He hunts for the dramatic interplay between massive cells, the clouds they generate, and the light and shadow that dances around them. After four years of searching for a giant, rotating supercell, he finally found one in Booker, Texas.
“I’ve been visiting the Central Plains since 2010,” said the Arizona-based photographer. “Usually it’s just for a day, or three, or two…but it took until the fourth attempt to actually find what I’d been looking for. And boy did we find it.”
