Using deer antlers as handlebars is, of course, a terrible idea, but if you’re going to do it, do it with style. Brooklyn design student Taylor Simpson was inspired by a road trip to Kentucky, which to a Brooklyn design student must seem as exotic as colonial Africa, where he came upon a man selling “genuine” deer antlers. And Moniker Cycle Horns were born.
Antler bars are a sub-genre of wacky bicycle cockpits, which are an artform unto their own. If this is something you’d like to explore, check out Bike Snob NYC’s zany cockpit contest.
