One of the most obvious appeals of fresh snow is that it blankets the world anew, but what about how it blankets the world? Some dumps are all sparkly and hard-edged but some storms slip away and leave everything soft and gauzy, as if they’ve draped a sheet of linen over the sun and sifted confectioner’s sugar over the land. Has a double fall line ever looked more beautiful or fun?
