It’s been a year, a year ago last week, actually, since top skier Jamie Pierre died in an avalanche hiking at the closed Snowbird ski area. Rest in peace, Jamie, rest in peace.

Trying to describe Jamie has always felt like such a dis-service to who he was. Lunatic pioneer, but with such a sense of calm-calculated purpose. Entertainer, providing footage that felt like inhaling a lung-full of triple shot espresso. Technical genius, he could find a skiable line down the Statue of Liberty. Ambassador, but to skiing like sharks are to oceans. And friend to many.
Jamie, we miss your smiles, antics, and you. Your memory lives strong.
