The Clever Cacophony of ‘Bicycle Sounds’

The noises bicycles make are often distinctive to the model of bike. I think in particular about trail bikes and the audio signature of a Specialized running a Brain shock versus, say, a VPP — you can tell which is which even with your eyes closed. But it’s equally true the bikes themselves have a unique range of sounds (card in the spokes, anyone?), which artist Stephen Meierding uses to great effect in this short little film. As the noises become layered, you might find yourself expecting the film to turn into song; it doesn’t, but it’s still a clever audio contraption, well worth the watch. Or listen.
