The Burton Mix Master Mitt makes two things happen to your iPod or iPhone a lot more easily: play and pause. It’s courtesy of a wireless remote built inside the waterproof leather. Just plug a small dongle into the bottom of your iPhone/iPod and use the integrated buttons on the back of the lefthand glove to control the output.
Play and pause being key, so you can hear when you need to, and just “tune out” when you don’t along with standard fast-forward/back, and volume up/down functions. The buttons are big, so even when mitted you can fiddle, the dongle that attaches to the i-device is no bigger than a standard USB drive, and it’s all so quick and straightforward to use a first-grader could have it nailed in seconds.
The mitts themselves are also pretty lovely. There’s soft leather all around, but an internal membrane prevents wet or cold from penetrating. Both thumbs get snot strips and both mitts have wrist leashes. These puppies are also generally toasty, though size up if you want to also run a liner glove.
