Announced this summer and shown at the bike trade shows, Intense Cycles’ new carbon hardtail, Hard Eddy, has shown up in the wild, or in the semi-wild behind a warehouse at least. The drop-dead sexy machine represents a new step for Intense as it moves into carbon frames, seeming to be de rigueur these days for a mid-level brand with street cred (see: Santa Cruz), and also as it moves to make a bike outside its U.S. facility; the Hard Eddy will be laid up in Asia.
The 29er has tapered headtube and BB30 oversized bottom bracket, along with replaceable dropouts so you can run numerous options in the back, including singlespeed. Estimated price is around $1,800.
