The Vanoise Express is a one-of-a-kind cable car that carries 200 passengers over the massive Ponthurin valley in the French Alps, linking the French ski resorts of La Plagne and Les Arcs, and affording access to nearly 9,000 feet of skiing vert, as well as 175 (!) ski lifts, making the two areas combined by the Vanoise the largest ski area on the planet.
And in summer? Well of course the tram still runs, so the obvious thing to do is pose outside the open doors (and on the rooftop) of the Vanoise and bounce three trials bikes around. Just don’t sneeze or you’ll pull a 1,200-foot endo to the village of Landry below. Danny Mac’s riding across a metal fence was shockingly rad, but the cajones it took to pull off this…huge.
