Last week, I told you all about my Volkswagen van. But that’s just for special occasions. My daily driver’s a bit more pedestrian…yawn. But I had a heck of a time getting a rack for it. Finally, Thule agreed to work with me and built a system that will swap the whole roof for an integrated roof/rack.
The car is the Koenigsegg Agera R and it has a whopping 1,150 horsepower engine, tops out at 273 miles per hour, and dings the Swiss bank account for $1.6 mil. Thule really does make a rack for it — this isn’t just some rack designer’s dream concept — and it adds $28,000 to the cost. Hey, do you have any idea what it takes to keep a rack on the roof at 273 mph? But it does make that $11,700 winter wheel/tire package look like a bargain. They’ll probably nail me on the chains.
