With Tahoe claiming 20 feet of fresh and Mammoth 15, the snow junkie’s thoughts turn to familiar mind-blowing territory, as in how many dang snowflakes it takes to cover a mountain range under a two-story blanket. And then there’s that whole “no two flakes are alike thing”…somewhere, somebody and their mega-macho computing machine could figure out the approximate number, but the rest of us can just say, “Whoa,” especially when checking out these shots of capped columns and spatial dendrites at ultra-high magnification. Somewhere, Snowflake Bentley is smiling.

Wow. Gorgeous images! What’s the source on these?
Ah, yes, forgot the source. So sorry. I don’t know the original source because there’s no credit, but they were found here.
Here is the original web site : http://emu.arsusda.gov/snowsite/default.html

Wow, it’s just mind blowing to think of the intricacies of these designs that lay at out feet and speed past our eyes in their billions as we pursue another hit of adrenaline.
